Dad’s Day

19 Jun

To the man who let his three little girls do his hair while playing “beauty center,”

To the man who came to every third grade basketball practice and game even though it was painfully obvious that team sports were not my thing,

To the man who helped me score an A on every high school Physics project (I only cheated had parental help in that class, promise),

To the man who made two-hour round trips to pick up his homesick daughter from college (on more than one occasion :/),

To the man who passed down his stubborn, perfectionist, type A ways,

To the man who made it possible for me to attend four five years of college,

To the man who blessed with me with happy childhood memories, and the promise of a bright future.

Happy Father’s Day. Thank you, Dad, I love you :).

Because of conflicting work schedules, my family celebrated Father’s Day last night. Knowing that I didn’t have much to do today, I feel asleep on the couch went to bed at 11:00, and slept in until 9:15. I never sleep in that late, or for that long, but I’m not going to complain. Over 10 hours of sleep? I’ll take it!

My sister was busy whipping up my dad a Father’s Day breakfast (her present to him 🙂) in the kitchen this morning, so I decided to make something simple, staying out of her way. We still had one bagel left from Friday’s trip to Panera, so I went for it.

A toasted cinnamon crunch bagel with hazelnut cream cheese, and a side of strawberries. It was the perfect carby breakfast for a gloomy Sunday morning.

There’s not much going on around here the rest of day, but I plan on making a trip to the gym before it closes, and starting on some freelance work.

Enjoy your Sunday. Happy Father’s Day!

That is such a good photo of you and your family. I am so close with my father too. I agree with Laura and that your breakfast looks like the bomb.com.
