Easter Treats

Happy Easter!

Easter 2010

If you don’t count the one day that I cheated, it has been 46 days since I’ve last eaten chocolate, ice cream, and every other type of dessert. I did it — and I’m still living and breathing :).

Surprisingly, I didn’t miss it too much. Besides the occasional after-dinner craving for a piece of chocolate, I didn’t feel too tempted. Today, I will happily pig out on Easter candy, but after that, I’m going to do my best to limit myself during the week. There’s no need for me to eat something sweet everyday. Obviously, I did fine without it.

Speaking of pigging out, it’s time for me to head to church before I open my Easter basket and end this no sweets streak. Have a very happy Easter with your family and friends :)!

Did you give anything up for Lent? Are you happy to be reunited with it today?

What are your Easter plans?

Awesome to hear. I’m so proud of you and I love how honest you are about skipping one day. Glad you aren’t missing it though! πŸ˜›

Emily, Your Aunt gave up pizza for Lent. Friday we are going to Mama Mia’s and I am going to have my favorite double cheese with mushrooms. Can not wait. Your Grandma and your Godmother are spending Easter with Uncle Wally and I. Happy Easter to all. I take it Jordan survived his ordeal.

    Love you,

Awesome job on not eating desserts!! It’s amazing how once we give something like that up we don’t crave it nearly as much. Happy Easter ❀

i’ve never given anything up for lent before – my family was catholic until my brother was born, but when a priest refused to baptize him because my parents weren’t technically married in a catholic church, we kinda “switched” to protestant. but it’s funny how once you go without something like sugar, you eventually don’t really miss it b/c your body adjusts! i hope you enjoy some sugar today tho, after all, it is chocolate-for-breakfast day πŸ˜‰

Happy Easter!! We served at our church this morning, and later this afternoon we’re going over to another church members’s house for a small Easter get-together! πŸ™‚ Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

I actually didn’t miss sweets that much over Lent either! But I’ve definitely enjoyed my share of treats the past couple of days–I learned through the past couple months that I don’t need all the sugar and actually enjoy it much more when I have it rarely.
Glad you had a good Easter!
